FAQ

The Guided Fishing Trip FAQ

WHAT AM I FISHING FOR ON LAKE LEWISVILLE?

I provide guided Lake Lewisville fishing trips for Hybrid Striped Bass, White Bass, Black Bass, Blue Catfish, and Crappie. I am the only fishing guide on Lake Lewisville that offers guide services for multiple fish species. Most guides only fish for one species of fish. I can provide guide services that most other fishing guides cannot and would not.

DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

For new customers, I will require a $100 deposit. Once I have been fishing with you and gain trust that you will show up, I may waive the deposit. Preparing a guided fishing trip is a lot of work. I have to catch bait the day before, prepare the equipment, get up early, and haul the boat. When someone doesn’t show up for a fishing trip I not only lose my investment of time, I also lose a good day of fishing, that could have made another customer very happy. Once you have paid your deposit your guided fishing trip is guaranteed. If you do not show up for the trip you will lose your deposit. If your trip is rescheduled due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances the value of the deposit can be applied to your rescheduled fishing trip. It is important if you need to reschedule for a different date to let me know as quickly as possible. Please call to make arrangements to pay your deposit.

WHAT DAY TO FISH ON?

Weekdays are less busy on the lake and generally, make for a more relaxing enjoyable fishing trip. I always encourage people to take their trip on a weekday if possible. If you can’t, that’s fine, we will plan a weekend that works for you. Weekday fishing makes for less boat traffic, jet skies, and less competition with other anglers.

WHAT IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE?

Whether you are afraid to take your fish off the hook or don’t want to fuss with boat ownership, I take care of everything. From the beginning to the end of your guided fishing trip my primary focus is to make sure you have the best experience possible.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON MY FISHING TRIP

Below are a few items that will make your guided fishing trip more comfortable and productive.

  • An ice chest (with ice) to take your fish home in.
  • Sunblock, sunglasses, and a hat.
  • For winter and fall fishing trips, dress really warm.
  • If rain or mist is in the forecast make sure and bring rain gear.
  • Water and/or beverages of your choice.
WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?

As long as there is not lightning or high wind, we can usually go fishing. Some of the best days I have had on the lake fishing are cloudy overcast and calm misty days. Don’t let a little mist or light rain discourage you from going on your trip. Just make sure to dress accordingly for the weather conditions on that day. Even if it is not that cold I suggest dressing warmly during fall and winter months. The air over the lake in the morning, when we are heading out, can be pretty cold. If there is severe weather or a lightning event over the lake, it might be necessary to reschedule your trip for another day.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Dress appropriate for the weather, if its cool wear a heavy jacket. Loaner life jackets can be provided.
